India administers 1 crore Covid vaccines in a day for fourth time

NEW DELHI: India administered one crore Covid-19 vaccine doses on Friday for the fourth time. The BJP has sought to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on Friday historic by administering a record Covid-19 vaccine doses.
On August 31, India administered over 1.30 crore doses, the highest single-day vaccinations so far. India achieved the one-crore doses milestone for the first time on August 27 this year.
The vaccinations reported on Friday come against the backdrop of an increase in the supply of vaccine doses to the states. The country's inoculation drive has been ramped up through advanced visibility of vaccine availability to states and UTs to enable better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain, the Health Ministry has said.
