GDC Basohli celebrated 75th Independence Day under the aegis of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav"

KATHUA: To commemorate the 75th Independence Day of the nation, GDC Basohli celebrated the day with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.
Dr. Nidhi Kotwal, Principal GDC, Basohli was the chief guest of the function, she was welcomed by the College staff and escorted by the NCC cadets upto the stage.
Dr. Kotwal hoisted the National Flag followed by rendition of National Anthem and Sarswati Vandana. In her inaugural address, Dr. Kotwal congratulated the students, staff and citizens of the nation for the Independence day and remembered the sacrifice and valour of all the freedom fighters, who fought for the Nation's freedom. She encouraged the students to focus on their careers and contribute to society.
Afterwards, a cultural programme was presented by the college students, wherein, they performed dance and sung patriotic songs.
The event culminated with the prize distribution ceremony, in which top three participants of all the programs held during 75th Independence Day week celebrations were felicitated. All the NSS Cadets and NCC volunteers were also felicitated on the occasion.
Among others, all the staff members were present and the proceedings of the event were carried out by Sheetal Bhagat and Manju.
