NSS organizes Webinar on 'Revival of Dogra Culture' under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav

JAMMU: NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu organized a webinar on 'Revival of Dogra Culture: A Case Study of Self -Help Groups of District Reasi' under the banner of Aazadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Earlier, Prof Neeru Sharma, Convenor, NSS Campus Units welcomed the volunteers and various faculty members in the programme and highlighted the need for revival of our Dogra identity.
Prof Neeru further motivated the students to come forward for the revival of Dogra culture by exploring their own state and focused on the various online activities that have been conducted in the past.
Dr. Hema Gandotra, NSS Programme Officer and The co-ordinator of the event introduced Speaker Anil Sharma, Block Programme Manager, Jammu and Kashmir Livelihoods Mission, Block Pouni, District Reasi and the mission UMEED and the National Rural Livelihoods Mission. She also focused on the activities being undertaken by the NRLM for women.
Anil Sharma ji gave a detailed presentation of the activities being undertaken under UMEED and NRLM through videos and various pictures.
Sharma focused on various cultural traits like food, articrafts, pickles etc. which are a part of Dogra Culture and how with the help of micro-financial support the Women of District Reasi have created the SHG and started Dogra Haat which is not only a landmark of Dogra Identity but an attraction for the tourist of Jammu. He further talked about the past, present and future projects being undertaken in Reasi District by the people, for the people.
The programme was attended by Prof Vishav Raksha, Former Coordinator NSS, Dr. Anju Thappa, NSS Co-ordinator, Dr Meghna Dhar, Dr. Amit Sharma, NSS Programme officers and others.
