Son of the soil, Akshay Dogra debuts on OTT platform with RAMYUG

Bringing subtleties to the fore, an actor draws veered off attention of the public to the screen. Emanating from feelings, actors venture into theatre and then movies. Exhibiting nuances of his acting talent, the son of the soil, Akshay Dogra has worked on several shows in his career garnering fame and followers especially from his famous serial, Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?

He belongs to Hiranagar area of Jammu district. Although, he didn't stay in his hometown for more than 2 years but he often visits his family on special occasions.

Talking to Jammu Links News, he mentioned missing his Trikuta nagar house and roads leading to the nearby canal. He believes Jammu has a distinct vibe and fragrance to it. Oftentimes, he finds himself absorbed in old memories from Jammu whenever he visits any hilly region.

Akshay was born and brought up in New Delhi before venturing into the entertainment business at the age of 21. He moved from Delhi to Mumbai early on and started working as a member of the creative team of various shows, later moving onto acting on the silver screen. He has also worked with Deepak Tijori as an assistant director.His transition from behind the camera to in front of the camera began with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang on Bindaas followed by Zee TV's 12/24 Karol Bagh.

But he grabbed limelight with his role as "Akash Singh Raizada" in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? on STAR Plus in 2011-12. His work was widely appreciated by the public, TV industry and media.  Later, he worked on a variety of shows including Punar Vivah, Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal, Do Dol Ek Japan, Warsi, Encounter, Dil Hi tho Hai etc.

While speaking about the support system, he mentioned his wife, Sakshi who has been with him through thick and thin. He also spoke about his five-year-old son, Ivaan who has been keeping him busy during lockdown. He cherishes all lovely moments spent with his family during this pandemic break. But he tries not to skip on his exercise routine to keep his mind and body fit.

With a plethora of work backing his acting skills, Akshay Dogra finally debuted on OTT screens with Kunal Kohli's ‘RAMYUG', story of Lord Rama. The adaptation of the Indian mythological epic, Ramayana in the form of RAMYUG hit silver screens on May 6, 2021. Akshay Dogra is playing the role of Lord Ram's brother, Lakshman. With his acting prowess, he is definitely going to surprise the audience in this amazing re-telling of the epic, taking mythological storytelling to new heights.

He spoke to Jammu Links News about his wonderful experience while shooting RAMYUG in Mauritius. He had the best time of his life during those 3 months of shooting with a wonderful cast and crew around. He recalled pranks being played on the set, fun chatting sessions with colleagues. All in all, it was a pleasurable experience for him.

Speaking to a media house in Mumbai, the famous actors, Arun Govil and Sunil Lahiri, who played the role of Ram and Lakshman from Ramanand Sagar's TV serial "Ramayan" have shown keen interest in the MX Original Series ‘Ramyug'. They complemented Kunal Kohli and all actors of the show for the spectacular use of technology and modern storytelling techniques.

Ramyug features Diganth Manchale, Akkshay Dogra, Aishwarya Ojha, Kabir Duhan Singh, Vivan Bhatena, Navdeep Pallapolu, Anish John Kokken, Shishir Mohan Sharma, Jatin Sial, Shweta Gulati, Suparna Marwah, Mamta Verma, Tisca Chopra, Dalip Tahil, Annup Sonii among others.The television show attempts to underline the good and the bad.

Once again, the son of the soil, Akshay Dogra has made everyone proud with his acting choices. Although, he enjoys directing and script writing more than acting but his role as Lakshman in the show proves his skills as a storyteller.

Akshay also shared an important piece of advice for all youngsters. He emphasised on staying strong while chasing your dreams because life is an uphill journey so patience helps immensely in moving forward.
