International Dance Day celebrated at JU

JAMMU: Department of kathak Dance celebrated International Dance Day 2021 on a virtual platform because of an ongoing pandemic. 

Students of Dance Dept. namely Shivam, Umesh, Akshay, Neeraj, Saba, Sunidhi and Ritika posted their beautiful video clips of kathak dance on the official face book page of IMFA-Dance Deptt.

The efforts of students and teachers of Dance Dept. IMFAwas well appreciated by staff and Principal. 

Prof. Shoaib Inayat Malik.Prof.Malik in his address said that the Dancers, researchers and therapists across the world are increasingly encouraging people to engage in hobbies to counter the mental fatigue during the pandemic.

He further said it's high time to help each other to battle the isolation and loneliness amid the raging coronavirus pandemic.

Dance is good for the body and mind, and it has been established that shaking a leg is a mantra for happiness for many people.

International Dance Day is a great opportunity to spread the awareness and help people become more resilient when faced with the mental or emotional challenges amid Covid-19.

Event was organised by Dr Priya dutta, Rajkumar sharma, vijay kumar, and teaching assistant Shivani kapoor and students of Dance.
