Jammu suffered most under BJP rule: Lal Singh

JAMMU: Former Member Parliament and president Dogra Swabhiman Sangthan Party (DSSP), Ch Lal Singh has said that Jemmu has suffered a lot under BJP rule and the people are feeling cheated today.

Talking to media-persons here, the former MP said that people of Jammu region gave BJP a massive mandate during 2014 elections with the hope that their concernes will be addressed and age old discrimination against Jammu would end. But all the tall promises made with the innocent people of Jammu by the BJP leaders turned hollow. The educated youth from Jammu continued to face discrimination in jobs and professional colleges.

The former minister said that BJP leaders assured after the abrogation of Article 370 that the land and jobs of the locals will be secured. But they brought out domicile certificate and both the promises by bringing new laws have been set aside. They offered jobs to the people from outside. The youth of J&K is today feeling cheated and dejected.

New law has been enacted with the guidelines that there is no need of Domcile certificate for purchasing land in J&K. Then what was the purpose of bringing Domcile certificate, Singh asked.

Ex-MP further claimed that paddy/Basmati growers of Jammu region were not facilitated for selling their crop while the Govt is directly lifting the apple from Kashmir. There are no buyers of Basmati of RS Pura-Bishnah or border belt of Samba. The farmers of Jammu are also facing great discrimination.

He strongly criticized BJP led Govt for giving gifts of Toll Plazas to Jammu people. He said veven on the old constructed highway, the BJP Govt has imposed Toll Plazas. The people have suffered most under BJP rule and the local leadership stood totally exposed before the people.

He said during upcoming DDC elections, the BJP has no agenda or nothing to project before people. The people of Jammu will teach a lesson to BJP during these polls, he asserted.

Former MLA Kanta Andotra, DSSP leaders Haridutt Shishu, Balbir Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
