Army provides medical support to people amid COVID-19

POONCH: People along the line of control stay in remote and isolated areas with limited Medical facilities. Inhospitable weather and terrain adds to the vagaries of its inhabitants. The problem has been aggravated with spread of COVID-19 in the various parts of country.
Indian Army has made an Endeavour to provide wholesome support to the local populace and overcome critical deficiency in infrastructure to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
As a goodwill gesture and in continuance of its commitment towards welfare of general public, Indian Army provided medical support for COVID - 19, to the people residing in remote regions in an event conducted at the Sports Stadium Poonch.
The event was aimed towards providing medical assistance to the locals of the region and addressing their health problems. During the camp, COVID-19 kits comprising of Face Masks, Hand Sanitizers, Soaps, PPE Kit disposable, Infrared Thermometer, Pulse Ox meters and Manpack Spray Pumps were distributed to the needy locals and Primary Healthcare Centers of Poonch.
This noble initiative of the Army was appreciated by the people, who face extreme difficulties and lack of medical facilities in these remote and difficult to access areas. Over 158 people turned up from adjoining areas and availed this facility.
The event highlighted the superlative efforts put in by the Indian Army in co-ordination with civil administration for the under privileged locals residing in the border area of Poonch district.
There was an overwhelming response by the local population who appreciated the efforts wholeheartedly.
