LG Mathur lauds athletes for bringing laurels to Ladakh

LEH: Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur lauded the athletes for bringing laurels to Ladakh during recent athletic events in different parts of India.

Lt. Governor was interacting with athletes at Raj Niwas, here on Saturday.

Lt. Governor Mathur appreciated the fact that despite limited resources in terms of professional training, diet plan, medical facilities and other prerequisites, the runners excelled in their sport to make Ladakh known among the professionals of the country.

Lt. Governor, in an interaction with the athletes, mentioned taking some concrete steps in the near future to facilitate the sports fraternity, in general, to encourage youngsters to participate in sports of their choice.

Pertinently, the runners had participated in various Marathons held across the nation this winter in particular and other events in general.

In the IDBI Marathon held in Delhi on February 23, all the top three positions in the 21.1 km Half Marathon in the women's category was won by girls from UT Ladakh.

Also, all other athletes have also made Ladakh proud by winning positions in different categories
