DEO Kishtwar discusses action plan to operationalize ELCs, Chunavi Pathsahallas

KISHTWAR: District Election Officer Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today discussed action plan to operationalize Electoral Literacy Clubs and Chunavi Pathsahallas in colleges and schools.

ACR Kishtwar, Dr. Amir Hussain, CEO Kishtwar, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Deputy Election Officer Kishtwar Masood Ahmed Bichoo, Nodal Officer SVEEP/ELC Anoop Kumar, Nodal Officer Chunavi Pathshalla, Dr. Mohsin Raza, ENT Kishtwar Angrez Singh and other concerned attended the meeting.

The DEO directed for imparting mandated training to Nodal Officers of ELCs and Chunavi Pathshalas as per guidelines of Election Commission of India. He further directed that the Nodal Officer SVEEP/ ELC and Nodal Officer for Chunavi Pathsahallas shall co-operate with the Tehsildar's/ AERO's and Heads of Educational Institutions to manage and run the Chunavi Pathsahallas and ELCs at all the polling stations and educational institutions respectively.

He asked ELC's and Chunavi Pathsahallas to celebrate National Voters' Day on January 25 at all polling stations and educational institutions respectively. He asked the Nodal Persons of all the ELCs to maintain and prepare database of all the students who have attained the age of 18 years and furnish the list along with documentary proof and photographs of the students to the local BLO for enrolment in the electoral roll.

He further emphasised upon awareness and demonstration to voters especially future and new voters about the value of voting. He said such interactive interventions through curricular, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are aimed at increasing awareness about electoral processes.
