Shubh Memorial International School celebrates 4th Annual Day

JAMMU: Shubh Memorial International School Akhnoor celebrated its 4th Annual Day Function ‘PARVOSTAV', a myriad of celebrations replete with music, dazzling dances and hues of colours amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation.

Former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest and Sandeep Mehta and Ajay Sharma as the guests of honour.

Among others present were GN Car (President of Private School Association), Vikas Gupta (Vice President Judo Association of India), Pardeep Khajuria (SHO Akhnoor) and Prem Sagar (Founder Edufeed Foundation) as the special guests. The programme commenced with the lighting of the Ceremonial lamp, followed by the inaugural performance ‘Tridevi Vandana'.

The programme progressed with the Welcome Speech presented by Hunar Gupta, a student of 4th standard to welcome all the dignitaries.

The Principal of SMIS, Shilpa Mahajan, formally welcomed the eminent guests and presented the Annual Report 2019-20 highlighting the achievements.

She thanked everyone for their contribution in the journey of SMIS. Accolades were bestowed to the exceptional and outstanding performers for achievements in the fields of Academic, Sports, Cultural and Co- Curricular Activities.

The ebullient dancers of the school presented thematic ‘Parvostav' depicting rich radiant and vibrant festivals of India. Mellifluous dance on ‘ Teri Mitti ‘ and ‘Saanu kendi ‘ was replete with patriotism. Couple dance performance Senorita was riveting.

The various attractions of the event were Dogri dance, Maharashtrian dance, Punjabi fusion, Qawali, Christmas, etc. and in Sports - Judo techniques and melodious Skipping on bests were highly applauded by the audience.

The programme rode to a final crescendo with the fervent Bollywood dancing, the Grand Finale, ‘Om Shanti Om' presented by the combo of teachers and students.
