JMC Mayor, DC inspect developmental works

JAMMU: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta along with Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chouhan visited Ward No 14 and inspected ongoing developmental works.

Accompanied by Parmod Kapahi, Councilor of Ward number 14, the JMC Mayor and the DC toured new Mohinder Nagar area near Indira Theatre and sort out the issues raised by some inhabitants regarding construction of drain in the locality.

The Mayor and the DC issued directions to the engineering wing, concerned contractor as well as other allied agencies to execute the development work of lanes and drains in the locality with quality material and upto the satisfaction of inhabitants.

The JMC Mayor also inspected the ongoing construction work of Nallah at Bhagwati Nagar and directed the Engineering wing of UEED to expedite the construction work of Nallah on war footing so that people of the area may get immediate relief. He also appealed the general public to cooperate with JMC in development activities and avoid throwing ‘mulba' and garbage on road sides and in the public lanes.

Earlier, the Mayor along with Surinder Choudhary, Councillor of Ward number 29 and other prominent citizens of Rajpura Mangotrian visited Government High School Rajpura Mangotrian and distributed school uniforms and shoes to the students of the school. The Mayor assured the principal that the school will be developed as a model school in short period of time with all modern facilities.

Later, Mayor also chaired a public redressal meeting organized by Sunita Koul, Councilor of Ward number 4 at Rajput Sabha, Purani Mandi, Jammu where after getting complaint of local people regarding dirty water supplied by the PHE, he directed the chief Engineer to immediately redress the issue and ensure supply of potable water on daily basis.
