School of Mathematics Organises Lecture Series at SMVDU University

KATRA: Prof. Shalabh, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, IIT Kanpur, delivered two days guest lectures in the School of Mathematics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakryal, Katra.

He delivered lectures on 'A Gentle Introduction to Monte Carlo Simulation'; 'Big Data: From Statistician's Perspective and Gentle'; and 'Introduction to Statistical Modelling'.

The research students, post-graduate and under-graduate students attended the lectures. The interactive lectures highlighted the contemporary research and industrial requirements, and expected to benefit the students in various ways.

The lectures were co-ordinated by Dr. Sandeep Bhougal, Assistant Professor, School of Mathematics, SMVDU.

Dr. Uday Pratap Singh, Head, School of Mathematics, SMVDU, along with other faculty members of the School expressed their gratitude to Prof. Shalabh.
