GGHS Rehari hosts district-level inter-school quiz competition

JAMMU: Government Girls Higher Secondary School Rehari, today, hosted a district level inter-school quiz competition, as part of the 'quiz competitions marathon ' being held in schools across the Jammu division, on the directions of Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education Jammu. The series of quiz competitions is being organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, falling on 2nd of October, 2019.

20 students from 10 different zones of Jammu district participated in the quiz competition representing their respective schools. These competing 20 students, forming 10 teams of 2 members each, are winners of the ‘ Zonal Level' quiz competition which was held last week.

In today's competition, Team-A comprising of Kanika Sharma and Preeti Jamwal, from Dhansal zone put up a spectacular show to win the trophy while Team-B comprising of Rishi kumar and Anshu Kumar, representing Jourian Zone lifted the runners-up trophy. Team -C from Gandhi Nagar zone, with Tamana Mehra and Muskan Raina as team members, stood 3rd in the competition.

By virtue of being the top two teams in today's competition, Team -A representing Dhansal Zone and Team-B, Jourian Zone, have qualified for the next stage of the quiz marathon and will participate in the divisional level competition along with the winning teams from other districts of Jammu division.

Mamta Sharma Deputy Director (PD&MD) School Education Department Jammu, was the chief guest and gave away prizes to the winning students at today's event which was organised by District Education Planning Officer, Jammu, Balbir Kumar under the guidance of CEO Jammu. Anjeel Thakur (Senior Lecturer) acted as the quiz master.
