IIC & UBIIC, JU organizes workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation

JAMMU: Business Incubation and Innovation Centre, University of Jammu today organized a workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Seminar Hall of the Business School.

Professor Pearl, Yueh-Hsiu Lin, President, National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT), Taiwan, the Resource Person for the workshop in her keynote address appreciated the MoU signed between the University of Jammu and National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT), Taiwan and specified her objectives and opportunities not only for post graduate and undergraduate students in the form of fellowships but also for faculty members who can join teaching programs.

She elaborated the evolution of wireless technologies and how mobile is taking over most of the jobs and the scope of tourism and hospitality in providing more interesting and more creative jobs. She expressed the biggest influence of technology on travelers in the recent years globally with main highlight on the importance of reviews, its organization and improvement.

Professor Richard Wu, Director, International Collaborations, National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, Taiwan in his address illustrated the recent technologies ruling the world and highlighted the international partnerships of Kaohsiung University with various countries of the world including India (University of Jammu).

He also welcomed the students to their school for various academic degrees emphasizing overseas visits for students, International cooperations, certification programs and honours and also introduced The International Masters Program of tourism and hospitality 2020 APaCHRIE. Prof. Wu concluded his address by an interactive session with the participating students and encouraged the responsive students with attractive presents.

Prof. Manoj Dhar in his presidential remarks expressed his appreciation on the art of communication and active interaction between Prof. Wu and the students. He expressed his pride in addressing University of Jammu as the only University in India which they have signed the MOU with NKUHT. He motivated the students for thinking differently and take advantage of such opportunities and ensured support from the University for such intellectual collaborations. He also applauded the efforts of Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director, Institution Innovation Council and University Incubation & Innovation Centre (UBIIC) for creating a niche for himself as well as the University internationally leading to overall growth of the Institution.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rajni Dhingra, Dean Research Studies in her concluding remarks enlightened the audience with the benefits of signing international MoU's for students in achieving milestones and acknowleged Prof. Dhar, Vice Chancellor, for initiating and organizing such international interactions.

Earlier, Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director, Institution Innovation Council and University Incubation & Innovation Centre (UBIIC) in his welcome address talked on the various initiatives taken so far to promote innovation and students entrepreneurship. He also emphasized on the need of active participation of students in innovation and entrepreneurship and avail the opportunities and advantages. He also introduced the resource person, Prof. Pearl and thanked her for accepting the invitation as a resource person of the workshop.

Dr. Pallavi member, UBIIC conducted the proceedings of the workshop. Among others present on the occasion include Prof. Roopma Gandotra, Dean Life Sciences; Prof. Seema Langer; Prof. Gupta; faculty members from various departments of Jammu University; Prof. Anil Gupta, Dr B.K Bajaj, Dr. Skarma, Members, UBIIC, Officers, Scholars and Students from University of Jammu.
