DIS celebrates Janmashtami

JAMMU: DIS Jammu celebrated Janmashtami with great fervour and gaiety. 

The school premises buzzed with frolicsome energy and thematic decorations making the celebration more cheerful and colourful. The toddlers of 'Phulwari' participated in ramp walk and graced the stage dressed up as Radha and Krishna.

Students presented a scintillating cultural programme where they performed on entertaining dance numbers and sung melodious songs mesmerizing the entire atmosphere with Krishna Rasleela. The highlight of the celebration was the Inter House 'Dahi Handi'competition that witnessed a huge display of strength, teamwork and coordination among the immensely enthusiastic ‘Doon Govindas'.

The winning house received a cash prize for the amazing feat achieved which was presented by the Vice Chairman M. A. Tantray appreciating the enduring effort of the students of all the houses.

Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur lauded the efforts put in by the teachers and gleefully presented by the students as well. The celebration concluded with the Chairman G.N.Tantray's message where he advised the students to be righteous and fearless like Lord Krishna.
