Goenkans celebrate 73rd Independence Day

JAMMU: G D Goenka Public School, Jammu celebrated the 73rd Independence day with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The students took pride in glorifying and celebrate the spirit of unity in diversity. The synergy, zest and zeal were palpable amongst the students since early morning. The middle and Sr. School corridors silently witnessed the euphoria expressed through melody, rhythm and patriotic songs sung by the participants. It was a vibrant and robust display of talent, resplendent with theme & colours.

The school echoed with poetic fervor as the children danced on the beats of patriotic music and drew scenes of Independence. The students showcased an exceptionally patriotic medley of songs and enthralled the audience by their splendid performance.

Towards the end of the celebration, the Principal of the school Rajesh Rathore added that Independence Day is the red letter day in the history of modern India. It is a day to recollect the supreme sacrifice of life made by the immortal heroes of motherland. It's a day for taking resolutions which may take our nation to the zenith of glory. He paid tribute to martyrs, revolutionaries, freedom fighters, soldiers and many more.

On this occasion, he paid rich tribute to Shaheed Aman Thakur, DySP, who laid his life while facing a brave front with militants in Kulgam district. He also lauded the efforts of children and the creativity of their mentors for training them in a short span of time. The event culminated with the singing of National Anthem.
