DIS Jammu celebrates Raksha Bandhan

JAMMU : Doon International School celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with great zeal and fervour encapsulated with the supreme cause of humanity depicting the sensitivity towards the underprivileged brothers and sisters of the society.

The divine bond of brothers and sisters was enhanced to an extraordinary festival of universal love and brotherhood by the little girls of 'Phulwari' who visited the Narwal orphanage and celebrated this special occasion with the children of the orphanage by tying rakhis , distributing sweets and gifts as per the innocent choices of those children.

The celebratory vibes then reached the school where the students participated in different activities chalked out for them for the occasion. The junior students participated in Rakhi and Kite Making Competition where as the seniors had a fun time flying kites during the Inter House Kite Flying Competition.

The principal Dr Vikesh Kaur stated that the celebration of this pious festival was to sensitize the children with the feeling of love, care, empathy and compassion and to instil the feeling of amity and harmony in them.
