DDC Udhampur holds meeting regarding launch of mega campaign through Gram Sabhas

UDHAMPUR: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla convened a meeting with officers of different departments regarding launch of special Gram Sabhas aimed at to reach out to deserving beneficiaries under different Government schemes.

Detailed Discussion was held on various vital issues regarding identification of drop out school children, registration of Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries, Identification of pension beneficiaries, conservation of water under Jal Shakti Abhiyan.

While speaking on the occasion, DDC stressed on Jal Shakti Abhiyan and directed the officers to sensitise their field functionaries and PRIs about the techniques and benefits of water conservation in Gram Sabhas.

DDC informed that about 236 Gram Panchayats would be covered under "Special Sakshatkaar Saptah" programme in seven days.

He asked the concerned to focus on water conservation, social security schemes (Pension schemes) through PRIs in special Gram Sabahas being launched from 20th to 27th of July 2019. He said that issues related to water conservation will be discussed and an effective plan will be prepared after discussion during the gram sabhas.

During week long campaign, the main focus will be on Jal Shakti Abhiyan on saving each drop of water, 100% coverage of eligible pension beneficiaries, 100% registration of Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries and distribution of golden cards, 100% enrolment of out of school children in the age group of 4 to 14 years.

ADDC Ashok Kumar, CPO Rajeev Bhushan and all district officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
