26-year-old Nahida becomes first Kashmiri woman to scale Mt. Everest

SRINAGAR: Nahida Manzoor, a 26-year-old passionate mountaineer has achieved the feat of scaling Mount Everest and becoming first Kashmiri woman to do so.

Nahida has always been fascinated by snow peaks which motivated her to climb mountains from a very young age.

The reports were circulated by Transcend Adventures, the company which sponsored the event on their Facebook page posting that, "The Fourth summit of the day is Ms. Nahida Manzoor along with her Sherpa Guide Mr. Nima Kancha."

The 26-year-old Nahida had along with her group left the base-camp for the summit on 18th May, 2019 and on 21st May, 2019 she climbed the Everest successfully.

Nahida had on March 4 started crowd funding to support her "dream journey". Following which she received support from TCI Max group and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar also who granted her sponsorship from J&K State Sports Council.
