Five day workshop on 'Personal Grooming through Aesthetic Skills' concludes at JU

JAMMU: A five day skill development workshop on "Personal Grooming through Aesthetic Skills" organized by the Centre for Women's Studies, University of Jammu, concluded here this evening at the Centre for Women's Studies, University of Jammu.

The five day workshop on 'Personal Grooming through Aestheic Skills' began on April 22, 2019. Anjana Jamwal, Skin Faculty VLCC Institute, Pune was the Key Resource Person for the workshop.

In the concluding session, the expert spoke about the various means and resources available at one's disposal at home which can be made use of, for one's grooming. Further she averred how proper nutrition and balanced diet helps to maintain a healthy perspective towards life in general.

The participants also shared their personal experiences which according to them were hindrances to their positive self perception. Majority of the participants were of the opinion that the said workshop has made substantial difference in the way they perceive themselves. It has made them aware of their own potentialities.

The session concluded with the distribution of the certificates to the participants by the Chief Guest Prof. Anita Billawaria Director, Centre for History & Culture of Jammu & Ladakh Regions and Dean, Social Sciences. A Memento was also presented to the Key Resource Person Ms. Anjana Jamwal by the Chief Guest.

Prof. Suman Jamwal, the Director Centre for Women's Studies, spoke about the outcome of the Workshop and also revealed future initiatives in this direction to be undertaken by the Centre. She also presented vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Priyanka Katoch and Saranjit Kaur, faculty of the Centre.

Earlier, in the second session conducted on April 23, 2019, which was devoted to skin care, the key resource person spoke about the CTM (cleansing, toning, and moisturizing) regime.

The procedural application of CTM was practically demonstrated by the expert. Further problems related to skin were discussed in details and remedies were also suggested by her.

The third session held on April 24, 2019, was focused on the hair care in which various solutions regarding dandruff, frizzy hair, scanty hair, split ends etc., were deliberated upon. The expert demonstrated the ways by which anyone can easily give and take a hair cut by oneself at home.

In the fourth session, held on April 24, 2019, practical demonstration on various skills pertaining to personal grooming was given. The participants were also actively involved in the exercise.

It was a very interactive session in which many queries were raised by the participants regarding day to day grooming skills which were answered by the expert Ms Anjana, to their full satisfaction.
