JKPS Kunjwani celebrates Ramnavami, Baisakhi, Ambedkar Jayanti

JAMMU: The festival of Ramnavami, the colours of Baisakhi and piousness of Dr B.R Ambedkar Jayanti were reflected in a special morning assembly in the premises of JK Public School, Kunjwani, here on Friday.

The programme commenced with morning prayer followed by devotional song ‘Aaye Navratre Maharaniye' ....by school choir which gave a feeling as if Mata Rani herself was showering her blessings onto all.

To mark the Ambedkar Jayanti, S.K Singh, Principal, JKPS, paid a floral tribute to Dr. B.R Ambedkar, showing his respect.

Thereafter, Aasees and Beenish, students of VIII-A highlighted the importance of the festival (Baisakhi) and life of Dr. B.R Ambedkar respectively.

Diva Singh and Diya Sharma, students of VIII-A briefed the importance of Ramnavami festival.

A short skit based on the theme of ‘Food Wastage' was the limelight of the day. It depicted the importance of the farmers and their role in one's life and how we should respect them and their hard work. Also it gave students a message not to waste even a single grain and teach others the same.

The short skit was followed by beautifully choreographed dance performances ‘Dudhe Te Bareh Talaab' (Garba) and ‘Meriye Jugni' (Bhangra) which enthralled the whole premises with zeal and enthusiasm, also they depicted the importance of the festivals.

Speaking on the occasion, S.K Singh, Principal congratulated all, on the occasion.

He applauded the efforts taken by the students for the preparation. Further he added that no celebration is complete if we don't receive any learning.

Also, he appreciated the dramatisation of the short skit and advised the students to respect food and suggested the teachers to keep a check that whatever the students bring from home must be eaten fully in school.

The programme culminated with National Anthem.
