MIER celebrates World Health Day

JAMMU: In order to commemorate the World Health Day, the extension unit of MIER College of Education (Autonomous) organized a couple of events namely a free medical camp and a sensitization session for its students, teaching, non-teaching staff and Class IV employees.

During the general medical check-up of students and employees, 60 persons were diagnosed with the problem of hyper and hypotension and blood pressure. Free medicines were also distributed to the students. Dr. Renu Gupta, Vice Chairperson MIER, interacted with the students, teachers and Class IV employees regarding their medical exam and health issues.

In addition to the medical check-up, sensitization session on the theme “Common Health Issues”was also conducted by T.C Bhagat, Medical Officer MIER who comprehensively explained the significance of causes and preventions of common ailmentsand also discussed the first-aid measures required in case of a heat stroke, animals bite, electric shock and burns.

The Students and employees of MIER College actively participated in the medical camp and the sensitization session. Suman Devi, Incharge of Extension Unit formally thanked the resource person and the students for their cooperation and support. Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College appreciated the efforts of the unit for organizing a free medical camp for the students and employees.
