JSS celebrates Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti

JAMMU: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu celebrated the first festival of new session i.e. Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti in full gusto.

Celebrations commenced with welcome address followed by Bhajan on Goddess Durga to invoke blessings from her and pay gratitude on the occasion of Durga Ashtami. As the school believes in mass involvement so following the same tradition, one of class 12th students verbalized few words on Baisakhi. Not only this, the class 4th children presented a symphony on B.R Ambedkar.

The same gusto was very much evident in the Pre-primary wing where in all toddlers celebrated Yellow day as a mark of celebrating Baisakhi. They were dressed in yellow attires and were enlightened about the significance of the colour ‘Yellow' in Baisakhi. 

The highlight of the programme was Bhangra which engrossed everyone in it that undoubtedly they found themselves dancing on the tunes of the same. To fill the ambience with fervor, the School had organized a surprise event for Sanskritians which was letting children be them on the beats of "Dhol". The children rejoiced the moment which gratified our purpose.

Coordinators from all the wings; Nidhi Kohli (Pre-Primary wing), Varuna (Primary wing), Prabhjot (Middle wing) and Avneet (Senior wing) conveyed their best wishes to all the students & their parents.

The programme ascended to crescendo by the words of Rohini Aima Principal cum Vice Chairperson of the school who said that festivals connect the children to their culture. We can't afford to dwell in a world where there lies no connectivity especially when we are living in India -the land known for its diverse culture. She articulated her heartfelt wishes to children, parents and the faculty.
