University of Jammu Signs MoU with Lincoln University College, Malaysia

JAMMU: University of Jammu and Lincoln University College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the recent visit of Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu to Lincoln University College, Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.

On behalf of Lincoln University College the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Prof. Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, Vice Chancellor & CEO of Lincoln University College.

It is pertinent to mention here that University of Jammu has also been for past some time striving to build international collaborations. In this regard University of Jammu and Lincoln University College initiated the process of Collaboration sometime back. Dr. Arindam, International Advisor from Lincoln University College visited University of Jammu in this regard to assess the facilities as well as possible areas of collaboration.

Finally the efforts of two universities culminated in an official agreement towards building opportunities for students, researchers and faculty at both campuses.

According to Prof Dhar, international cooperation will play an important role in building a globally competent academic and research system in the University.He said that the broad framework of the two partnerships includes

- Conduct of joint collaborative research to develop, test, evaluate and commercialize various research project outcomes

- Access of Online library resources for students

- Collaborative applications for different research grant opportunities both in India and Malaysia.

- Exchange of Students, Scholars and Faculty

- Conducting lectures and Collaboratively organizing symposia/conferences/workshop.

- Promoting other academic cooperation as mutually agreed.

It is noteworthy to mention here that Lincoln University College figured among nine Malaysian varsities listed in Impact Rankings. Lincoln University College has strong presence in the field of Medical Sciences, Biotechnology,other areas of Life, Sciences Tourism and Hospitality Management, Computer Sciences and Mathematical Sciences any many more with number of patents and research projects to the credit of their faculty members and researchers. Both the universities intend to collaborate and benefit from each other's core competencies.

The MoU signing ceremony was also attended by Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and Professor The Business School.

On behalf of Lincoln University College the dignitaries who attended the ceremony were Prof. Datuk Dr. Abdul Gani Bin Mohammed Din, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Haji Mansor Ferner, Director- Academic, Dr Abhijit Ghosh, Dean- Faculty of Business and Accountancy, Dr Sandeep Poddar, Senior Research Director, Lincoln University College, Malaysia. The MOU ceremony event was hosted by Lincoln University College and was well attended by students, staff and faculty members of Lincoln University College.
