JU Kathua Campus organizes Guest lectures

JAMMU: Prof Meena Sharma, chief Coordinator Campuses and Rector Kathua Campus in her welcome address gave a brief overview of Kathua Campus and University Institute of Engineering & Technology, University of Jammu (UIET).

Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Dept of Botany, University of Jammu spoke on Role of Fungi in environment and food security. Prof Sharma in his lecture, discussed about various varieties of mushrooms that can be grown in various parts of state.

He also informed the students about mushroom cultivations in various countries. Prof Dipanker SenGupta, Dept of Economics, University of Jammu spoke on Role of Startups. He informed the students about business Incubation Centre which has been established in the University of Jammu under RUSA. He asked the students to be entrepreneurs and become job creators and not job seekers.

He also spoke about social entrepreneurs with examples. He discussed at length about various case studies of successful start-ups. He informed the students about various funding agencies who are ready to fund innovative start-ups.

He also discussed about knowledge economy and various projects which they can choose to become entrepreneurs. Dr. Jyoti Sharma conducted the proceedings of the event and Dr Vivek Sharma, presented the formal vote of thanks.

Among others Sourav Shastri, Irfan Goni, Pankaj Khajuria, Arun Singh, Gaurav Sharma and other faculty members of Kathua Campus and UIET were also present on the occasion.
