GCW Gandhi Nagar holds guest lecture


JAMMU: The guest lecture was organized by the Department of Zoology, P.G. College for Women, Gandhinagar, Jammu.

The resource person on the occasion was Dr. O. P. Sharma Vidyarthi (IFS), Director, State Forest Research Institute,  J&K. He delivered a lecture on the topic, “Feathered Friends of Man“ giving an insight into very interesting and fascinating facts about the Feathered Bipeds.

The event began with Dr. Satinder Kour, Head of the Department extending a warm welcome to the chief guest Dr. Koushal Samotra, Principal of the College, Resource person and all others present on the occasion.  

After the lecture, prizes were distributed among the winners of various events organized by the Department which includes Slogan writing competition on the topic Solid Waste Management and Symposium on Biodiversity awareness.

In slogan writing competition, the first prize was bagged by Suruchi of Semester IV, second by Nancy (4th sem) and third by Samiksha Chaudhary (4th Sem). Winners of the symposium were Meenakshi Thakur (Ist prize) Arushi Singh (2nd ) third prize was shared by Haripriya and Mehnaaz. The prize distribution ceremony was coordinated by Dr. Ashma Gupta .vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Anupama Pandotra.

The event was also attended by the students and the faculty members of the Zoology department, Dr. Sanjeet Kour, Dr. Vasudha  Chaudhari, Dr. Shamim Akhter, Dr. Sanjay Kotwal, Dr, Nitasha Sawhney, and Dr. Neha Antal.
