GCW Gandhi Nagar organised Poster making competition on World Pollinators Day

JAMMU: On the eve of World Pollinators Day, Department of Zoology, Govt. P.G. College for Women, Gandhinagar, Jammu in collaboration with State Forest Research Institute, J&K organized a Poster making competition on the theme “Pollinators” to create awareness among the students regarding the importance of insect, bees, birds, and bats as pollinators.

A total of 20 students of the Department of Zoology participated. The chief guest of the occasion was O.P. Sharma Vidyarthi (IFS). Director, State Forest Research Institute, J&K and the guest of Honour was Dr. Koushal Samotra, Principal of the College. The Judges on the occasion Dr. Sudhanshu Sharma, Head, Department of Sanskrit, Dr. Rama Badyal, Head, Department of Psychology and Dr. Sanjeet Kaur, Department of Zoology.

The coordinator of the event Dr. Satinder Kaur, Head Department of Zoology. The organizing committee members Dr. Vasudha Chaudhari, Dr. Anupama Pandotra, Dr. Shamim Akhter, Dr. Nitasha Sawhney, Dr. Ashma Gupta, and Dr. Neha Antal were present on the occasion. In this competition, the first prize was bagged by Samiksha (4th Sem), second by Sargun Kaur (6th Sem) and third by Meenakshi Thakur (6th Sem).
