Prof Malik Nominated for 'Awadh Ratna Award'

JAMMU: Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Head, Department of Urdu & Dean faculty of Arts, University of Jammu has been nominated for prestigious "Awadh Ratna Award" by Sangam foundation Lucknow (Regd).

The award is given by organization every year in various fields that includes Urdu literature. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik has been nominated for the award for his contribution to Urdu language & literature.

The award will be presented to Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik on March 03, 2019 in a function by Sangam foundation Lucknow in collaboration with Urdu Academy, Lucknow.

Prof Shohab Inayat malik is a prolific writer & critic of Urdu language and well known Urdu columnist, who writes for various Urdu newspapers within & outside the state on social, political & literary issues. He has written around 3000 Urdu columns and has served University of Jammu in various capacities as Assistant, Associate Dean students welfare & Director, Kishtwar Campus.

Prof Shohab has also been awarded by Jamia Milia Islamia ,New Delhi, Choudhary Charan Singh University Meerut, Lucknow University, lucknow and many more Urdu Organizations of the country for his contributions to Urdu language and literature.

Presently Prof.Malik is the member of various board of studies, committees of various universities they include Kashmir University, Punjab University Chandigarh & Punjabi University, Patiala.

He is also the general secretary of All India Urdu University teachers association. He has visited various countries in connection with the international seminars and has attended and presented papers in more than three dozens international seminars of Urdu.

Various literary and cultural organizations has hailed Prof. Malik for prestigious Awadh Ratna Award, that includes Jammu Kashmir Urdu Forum, Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society, Adbi Kunj, Anjuman Farog E Urdu & funkar cultural organization, Srinagar.
