MIER College organises Sensitization Programme on 'Healthy Life Style

JAMMU: The Extension Unit of MIER College of Education organized a sensitization program on the theme 'Healthy Life Style' at the SurpanchBhavan in Bhatyari village near Bishnah, Jammu.

The village has been adopted as part of the community development programme of the college. More than 40 student members of the unit along with theirIncharge Suman Devi visited the village.

The Surpanch and Panches of the village along with the students of a primary school, their teachers and the residents participated in the programme.

Three documentaries namely "Hygiene-the way of life", "Tips for Healthy living" and "Hygiene-the healthy life-style"were shown which highlighted healthy food habits, balance diet, personal and domestic hygiene.

This was followed by an interactive session in which the villagers actively participated to clarify their doubts and myths about hygiene. The residents also asked different questions regarding health issues which were candidly answered by the student members and the unit incharge.

Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College appreciated the efforts of the unit for sensitizing the residents regarding healthy life style and asked the unit to conduct such activities for the wellbeing of the residents.
