State girls excel in Sub-Junior Wushu National

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir team, especially the girls, performed well in the just concluded six-day long 18th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship held at Jalandhar in Punjab.

Young team won 11 medals, including two gold and two silver thereby remained fifth in the overall ranking. The team was accompanied by Ramees, Aijaz, Rohit Thakyal and Aman Singh accompanied as coaches.

Medal winners: Gold: Sana and Ayera Chisti. Silver: Ansa Chisti and Aliza. Bronze: Irfan, Pawani, Hritesh, Solhia, Vidant, Raghav and Mursaleem.

On their return, young medal winners called on the Secretary, J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Dr Naseem Chowdhary, who congratulated the little champions.

Earlier, president of Wushu Association of J&K, Vijay Saraf and the CEO, Kuldeep Handoo apprised the Secretary with regard to achievements of the Association.
