GDC Ramnagar celebrates National Voters' Day

UDHAMPUR: The SVEEP cell of Govt Degree College Ramnagar organised an event in the college, in connection with National Voters' Day.

Held under the supervision of Nodal Officer Dr. Pankaj Sharma, a number of events like Interactive Lecture by Nodal Officer SVEEP YOUTH for VOTE, Voters pledge and Human Chain formation were organised.

In the programme, the I/c Principal of the college Prof. Kewal was the chief guest. Dr. Pankaj Sharma in his welcome cum introductory address, apprised audience about the importance of the Voters' Day vis-à-vis role and function of the SVEEP Cell of the College. The aim was to sensitize and achieving maximum participation of the youth and society at large for choosing a transparent and strong Government. He also discussed the new portal for voters and helpline launched by Election Commission of India.

This was followed by Voters' Pledge read to all by student Suraj Raina and a formation of Human Chain by all the students and staff of the college. A large number of students of the college formed the human chain to convey the message of Unity.

In the end, Prof. Kewal Kumar talked about the importance of the National Voters' Day. He laid stress on the students to get their self registered as Voters through Online portal of ECI,, which shall be done on or before 5th of February 2019.

He laid stress on organizing such programmes as also accentuated to involve more and more students in the cell and disseminate the awareness at large. He opined for making the Students the Ambassadors of Change with the optimum registration and participation in the election voting and awareness process.

The programme finally concluded with the vote of thanks by SVEEP Nodal Officer Dr. Pankaj Sharma.
