Counselling workshop held at GCW Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU: The career counselling cell of Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, in collaboration with J&K Development Action Group organised a counselling workshop under 'Skill India Mission' today.

Dr. Kaushal Smotra, Principal, Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu was the chief guest and Vikram Randhawa, MLC, Gandhi Nagar, was the guest of honour. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Anupama Gupta, Convener, Career counselling cell.

Various Executives from J&K Development Action Group were also present.

Vikram Randhawa motivated the students to focus on skill enhancement along with academic achievements.

Parachi, Assistant Manager, Housing Department, Jammu informed the students about various skill related programmes started by Government, like 'Housing for All', 'Skill India'.

An inspiring video on using new technologies in agrarian society like India by young farmers was also showed to the students. The idea behind it was to illuminate them with contemporary skills for better future prospects and entrepreneurial avenues.

Around 300 students of the College registered for the workshop. Committee Members and senior Faculty members, Prof. Sudhanshu Sharma and Prof. Sunil Uppal, were also present on the occasion.
