Jammu bags overall trophy in State Taekwondo

JAMMU: District Jammu bagged the overall championship trophy while Samba and SAI-SAG Kargil remained second and third spot respectively in the two-day 21st State Taekwondo Championship concluded here today.

The event was organized by J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI). In all, 14 districts and two of the professional teams AITA (Atul's International Taekwondo Academy) and SAI-SAG, Kargil took part in this championship, a handout issued by the Association informed.

The event took place under the guidance of technical penal of J&K Taekwondo Association supervised by DN Pangotra (acting president, TFI).

Member Legislative Council (MLC), Vikram Randhawa was chief guest in the closing function. While felicitating the medal winners, he congratulated all the athletes for taking part in the event despite the prevailing adverse weather conditions.

President NMC, Shubash Shashtri was special guest while retired DC Samba, BS Jamwal also graced the occasion. Among other prominent present were Atul Pangotra (Referee chairman TFI), Romesh Chander Sharma (joint secretary JKTA), Mohammad Hassan Pasha, Mohit, Gurinder Rakwal, Rajesh Sharma and Jagjit Singh (general Secretary JKTA).
