Mission Director reviews progress of NHM at Rajouri

RAJOURI: Mission Director, National Health Mission, Bhupinder Kumar, today convened a meeting of all the health officers to review schemes being implemented under National Health Mission (NHM) in the district.

District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, was also present in the meeting.

Chief Medical Officer gave a detailed power point presentation depicting the physical, financial status of different schemes and statistics of the district hospital.

It was informed that 922707 OPDs cases have been registered in the district hospital till ending December, 3592 major surgeries conducted,1550 c-section, 8219 institutional deliveries, 4383 enrolled under JSY and 219 sessions of dialysis have been done.

A threadbare discussion with regard to effective implementation of various schemes under NHM on ground besides bottlenecks in the implementation were also discussed.

Mission Director complimented the District Administration Rajouri and health authorities for achieving success in major vaccination programme i.e MR vaccination. He informed that 37 lakhs children were vaccinated during the campaign. He also lauded the efforts of district administration in the registration of beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat. He said that State is committed for achieving the targets set under Sustainable Development Goals by improving healthcare services in the State.

He also informed that after the launch of National Health Mission (NHM), there has been a substantial increase in the number of institutional deliveries and a transformational change in the processes is required to achieve desired results. He laid thrust on improving reporting and reviewing of maternal and child deaths in the district so that gaps are identified and translated into an action plan for improving the healthcare delivery system.

Mission Director directed the concerned to organize health sabhas in all the panchayats. He also directed the concerned to disseminate information about the health schemes at the grass root level by involving ASHA worker and PRIs.

Regarding opening of High Dependency unit, he directed the medical superintendent to submit a detail project report with the framed guidelines.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Rajouri, Mohammad Rashid, Chief Planning Officer, Rajouri ,Yoginder Katoch, Chief Medical Officer Dr.Sunil Sharma, Medical superintendent, DH Rajouri, Mehmood Hussain Bajar, District Immunization Officer, Rajouri, Dr. Anees Nabi, District ASHA coordinator and other health officers of the district.
