CEC Kargil reviews maintenance work on Kargil- Batalik, Batalik-Khaltse roads

KARGIL: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan today reviewed the maintenance work by Project Vijayak on the Kargil- Batalik and Batalik- Khaltse roads here at a meeting of the concerned officers.

In Charge Commander, Project Vijayak and other concerned officers and engineers were present in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that work on the resurfacing of the remaining 46.53 kilometers length of the Batalik Khaltse Road and resurfacing of 15.94 kilometers of the Kargil Batalik Road have been planned to be taken up during the next financial year.

The Vijayak officers further informed that the construction of 4.20 kilometers Barchay Choo Lalung road near Hambutingla Pass to avoid shadow face on the Kargil-Batalik road, beside the renovation of damaged pavements and road surfacing works, would also be taken up for the full stretch of the road.

The CEC stressed on the concerned to ensure proper fund management and put in their best efforts to ensure timely start of work so that targets are achieved within the set timelines.

It was further given out that the general maintenance of both roads is being taken out on a continued basis throughout the year to ensure smooth regulation of traffic.

Moreover, in order to provide smooth riding surface, resurfacing on 10 kilometres road stretch has also been done on the Batalik-Khaltse Road during the current financial year.
