Muthi Club wins by 18 runs, enters QFs

JAMMU: Muthi Cricket Club made it an 18 runs win against Champion Cricket Club to qualify for the next round of quarterfinals in the ongoing KC Sports Club Cup at KC Public School (KCPS) grounds, here today.

Earlier, Muthi Club set a target of 148 runs for the loss of five wickets. Anil (53) remained top scorer with half century while Vishal and Robin contributed 45 and 15 runs respectively. From Champion Club, Abid Nabi and Sourab shared two wickets each.

In reply, Champion Club could not maintain the required run rate in the light of deadly spell from Vishal Khajuria thereby exhausted their quota of 20 overs for 129 runs losing eight wickets.

Sandeep, Akhil and Munna were main scorers with 32, 24 and 22 runs in their respective accounts. From Muthi Club, Vishal claimed five wickets, followed by Nikhal and Vishal Kumar, who shared apiece each. Later, Vishal Khajuria was declared as man of the match.
