NGR wins 2-1, Sainik Colony gets walkover

JAMMU: The NGR Club made it a 2-1 win against State Football Academy (SFA) while Sainik Colony Football Club got walkover Climate FC to qualify for the next round of the ongoing 12th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament at GGM Science College ground, here today.

In the first scheduled match, Climate FC failed to report resulting into walkover awarded in favour of Sainik Colony FC.

In the meantime, NGR Club registered a 2-1 win against fighting SFA to enter second round of the competition. The SFA took the first lead netting the ball in the 29th minute through Karmanan but could build on the advantage in their favour and conceded two in the second half of the play to lose the game. Barjinder (45th) and Navi (62nd) were the scorers from the NGR Club.

The technical penal in today's matches comprised Ricky, Moon Stephen, Dil Bahadur, Dheeraj Meenia, Rocky, Koshal Sharma, Ajay Singh, Abhishek Chandan and Mohinder Kalsi (Physio).
Prominent among those who witnessed the second match were SM Gill (president All J&K Christian Welfare Association), Sheikh Mehmood (president JKFA Jammu), Kuldeep Singh (vice president DFA Kathua), Abdul Majid, David Masih, Romesh Chander (vice president JKFA Jammu), Yousaf Don (organizing secretary), Featus Sotra (organizing secretary), Harbans Lal, Charan Dass, Narinder Gupta.
