Winter Coaching camp by SMVDSB gets underway

KATRA: The third annual Winter Coaching camp, organised by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) got underway at Shrine Board Sports Complex, here.

The 15-day camp, involving 150 such sports enthusiasts and budding players of different age groups and disciplines, declared open by Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the SMVDSB, Dr Arvind Karwani with the holding of first training session.

During the camp, the trainees would be imparted physical fitness training in motor abilities, coaching in basic fundamental skills, playing techniques, rules and regulations of the games, team combinations and other recreational activities by the technical penal.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dy CEO, said that the campers required to exhibit discipline, good cooperation and skills and must drive maximum benefit of the facilities being offered by the Shrine Board.

Man behind the idea of holding the camp, Director Sports SMVDSB, Ashok Kumar said that it was encouraging to find a good number of talented boys and girls, who have come forwards to learn further in their game of interest.

President Senior Citizens Forum and president Katra Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Shamra, Rakesh Wazir (resident, Katra Hotel Association), Shyam Kesar (Chairman Hotels and Restaurants Association of Katra) and A.S Katoch (Principal Amba Kids Panthal and secretary Muskan Foundation, Katra) were among those prominent present.
