Inter-Zone Sports Meet of JKP | Jammu Zone wins Football title after a decade

JAMMU: Beating the combined side of SDRF/CD/HG, the Jammu Zone took away the Football trophy after a long gap of 10 years in the ongoing Inter-Zone Sports Meet of the J&K Police at University of Jammu (JU) ground, here today.

The Jammu Zone made it a 5-4 win against the fighting side of the otherwise weak in sports, the SDRF/CD/HG. The women's football trophy bagged by Training Zone, who blanked their opponent from Armed Zone 3-0.

In Kabaddi, Armed zone won the women's title beating Training Zone by a margin of 11 points with final score being 43-32.

HANDBALL: Training Zone clinchéd the women's Handball title beating Armed zone 13-01 in a one-sided contest. Tashi Dolkar remained top scorer with eight goals.

BASKETBALL: The men's Basketball title went to Armed zone, who beat Training Zone 82-44 with tallest participant, SGCT Gharu Ram of AP 7th scoring maximum 28 points. The women's title bagged by Training Zone, who beat Jammu Zone 28-14 (Stanzin 10, Ekta six).

HOCKEY: The men's hockey title secured by Armed zone, who trounced Jammu Zone 2-1 in the final. Farooq Ahmed and Abhinandan Singh were the scorers form the winning side.

VOLLEYBALL: Armed Zone bagged the men's volleyball title after they defeated Training Zone in straight sets of 25-23, 25-14, 25-13. However, Training Zone compensated their loss when the women team outplayed Armed Zone 2-0 (25-14, 25-15) to take away the title trophy.
