Winning Cultural Troupe meets JU VC

JAMMU: The Cultural Troupe of the University of Jammu, who has brought laurels by winning the prizes in 34th North Zone Inter University Youth Festival held at Panjab University, Chandigarh, under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi called on Prof Manoj K Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu.

Prof Dhar interacted with the winning team and appreciated them for bringing laurels to the institution. He assured them that University will provide them all support and help to groom them so that they excel further in extra Curricular activities.

Prof. Shailendra Singh Jamwal, Dean Students Welfare under whose stewardship the whole preparations of the North Zone Youth Festival were conducted also congratulated the team and conveyed his best wishes for the same momentum in National Youth Festival.

A mega event where more than one thousand students from thirty-six Universities of seven North-Zone States participated in a tough competition, the University of Jammu was declared Overall Champion in Literary Activities.

The Team of Seerat Baji and Shivika Thakur stood First in Debate Completion, team of Chetan Bandral, Stanzin Tsepel, Sheetal Kumari and Aziz Verma stood First in Installation, The Skit ‘Pollution Ka Solution' written and Directed by Sumeet Sharma stood Second in Skit Competition which was performed by Shivata Saproo, Sakshi Manhas, Shivalika Atri, Vanshika Jaral, Ruhi Sharma and Radhika Sharma. In Elocution competition, Seerat Baji stood Second.

All the qualifying students would be representing the University of Jammu in 34th National Youth Festival being hosted by Chandigarh University Mohali in February, 2019. The contingent was headed by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) and Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer)

Among others Dean Academic Affairs, President, JUTA, Director, The Business School, Head, Dept of Sanskrit, Spl Secretary to Vice-Chancellor and Media Incharge was also present on the occasion.
