1. In the aftermath of the recent killing of seven civilians during an anti-militancy operation, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik Tuesday reviewed the security situation in the state and called for adherence of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to avoid civilian casualties.

2. PDP leader Naeem Akhtar Tuesday condemned the "hateful language and threats" issued to the Muslim community during the 'Dharam Sabha' organized by VHP and RSS at Jammu and accused the BJP of trying to reap electoral gains by such events.

12. The Delhi High Court Tuesday sought response of the Centre and the prison authorities on a plea by Kashmiri separatist Aasiya Andrabi, arrested in a case of allegedly waging war against the country with support from Pakistan, challenging her solitary confinement.

13. Australia produced an all round performance to beat India by 146 runs in the second Test of the four-match series at Optus stadium in Perth on Tuesday. With the comprehensive win, the hosts levelled the Test series 1-1 with two more matches to be played in Melbourne and Sydney.

14. State Administration on Tuesday announced winter vacations in all degree colleges in Kashmir division from December 24 till February 11, 2019 in view of chilly weather conditions. Meanwhile, Degree colleges of Jammu division shall observe winter vacations from January 7, 2019 to January 16, 2019, except colleges falling in winter zone of Jammu division.

15. Hamid Nehal Ansari is a free man and has been repatriated to India from Pakistan today. Ansari, who spent six years at the Peshawar Central Jail after he was arrested on November 14, 2012 and sentenced to three years in jail in December 2015, was brought to the Attari-Wagah border where he crossed over to the Indian side around 5.30 pm today.
