Faculty Development programme on Nai Talim and Work Education commences at JU

JAMMU: A seven day Faculty Development Programme on workshop for Teacher Educators of Private Colleges of Education was inaugurated in the Department of Education today in the morning.

The inaugural function was attended by more than 30 teacher educators from the different colleges of Education located in and around Jammu. The programme is aimed to equip the teacher educators with the philosophy of Mahatama Gandhi on Nai Talim.

The program is being organized by the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Hyderabad (MHRD, Govt of India) to sensitise the teachers & the teacher educators about the experiential learning & work education as the fundamentals of Nai Talim , the philosophy of Education mooted by the father of the Nation.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof. R. K. Ganjoo, the Director Colleges Development, University of Jammu who emphasized on the need of such programmes to bring updation among the teacher educators.The outcomes of the workshop would help in changing the curriculum of the teacher education & to bring necessary changes in the methodology of the teaching.

Prof. Rajeev Rattan Sharma, Head of the Department of Education welcomed the participants and provided a brief about the programme.

Dr. S. K. Panda presented the vote of thanks whereas Dr. Kajal Manhas anchored the programme. Mr Priyank Goswami , the faculty from the MGNCRE in collaboration of the Dept of Education has developed seven day schedule of the workshop.
