SMVDU faculty delivers talk at International Conference

JAMMU: Dr. Indu Bhushan Sharma, Faculty, School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, delivered invited talk in the international conference on bio-innovation for environmental and health sustainable development at IITR-CSIR, Lucknow.

His talk was on the topic, titled "Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles from plants extract".

The conference was focused on covering the advancement of research and innovations in biotechnology particularly in the domain of health, environment, food, water and other associated fields. The conference aimed at addressing the current challenges in creating a sustainable and affordable ecosystem in the framework of cutting edge R&D interventions.

Dr. Sharma emphasised upon the importance of eco-friendly bio synthesis of nano particles and their applications in various industries, such as pharmaceutical, cosmetics and waste-water treatment. The conference had witnessed participation from various countries where Dr. Sharma got an opportunity to interact with academicians, scientists and researchers from various institutes of national and international level.

Dr. Sharma also chaired session on nanotechnology applications in food and health Sectors, along with Prof. Suren Singh, from South Africa.

Dr. Sharma expressed his gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, Dr. Sanjeev Jain, his guidance and motivation.
