Vasu- Sandeep pair claims Men's doubles trophy | Ritvik clinches men's singles TT title

JAMMU: Ritvik clinched men's singles title after he defeated Manandeep Singh 3-2 in a closely contested best of five game final of the Stag 40th State Table Tennis Championship held under the banner of J&K Table Tennis Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Ritvik got better of Asad Sharma beating latter in straight 3-0 sets while Mandeep outplayed Hanumat 3-2.

The men's doubles title went to the pair of Vasu and Sandeep, who showed complete dominance over IP Singh and Gurvinder winning the all important game 3-1.

In the finals and valedictory function, senior National Conference leader, Davinder Singh Rana was chief guest, who presented the title trophies to the winners of different events. Retired DIG, Asrar Khan was guest of honour.

Now, as per the organisers, those top ranked players in this tournament shall represent the state in the upcoming National Championships.

Prominent among those present were Haji Abdul Qyoom (Chief Sports Officer of J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Ravi Singh (Divisional Sports Officer), Satbir singh, Rajan Sharma, Riyaz Ahmed, IP Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Saleem Bandey, Vasu Dewan, Sandeep Khadotra, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra, Sanjeev Gupta, Suresh Sharma (SAI Coach) and Vikas Magotra.

Matches were officiated by Vasu Dewan, Satish Gupta (Manager indoor sports complex M.A Stadium), Sandeep Khadotra (NIS Table Tennis coach), Meenu Rajesh & Asad Sharma.
