Samba police arrests 7 gamblers, recovers stake money of Rs 10,200

SAMBA: Continuing its endeavour to weed out social crime from the society, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba, arrested seven gamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 10,200 in two separate incidents from them.

Acting on specific information about gambling, special teams from PS Ramgarh and PS Samba conducted raids at the gambling spots and arrested gamblers along with stake money.

From PS Ramgarh, a police party headed by Inspector, Vikas Dogra, SHO, Ramgarh under the close supervision of S. Baljeet Singh, SDPO Vijaypur raided the gambling spot at Keso Morh, Ramgarh and arrested three gamblers along with playing cards. The stake money of Rs 6940 was recovered from the spot.

The gamblers were identified as Papu, son of Dhan Paul Singh of Bondar district, Kashi Nagar (ETA) Uttar Pradesh, Sudhir Sah, son of Rajinder Sah of Sirgari Tehsil Bagha district Pahhami West Champaran Bihar, Vaid Nath, son of Chandi Sah of Bitta district Sirgari Bihar. All are at present at Ramgarh.

Taking cognizance into the matter, all the gamblers were booked under Section 13 of Gambling Act at P/S Ramgarh.

Similarly, a police party of P/S Samba headed by Inspector, Chanchal Singh, SHO Samba under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba during patrolling in the area, arrested four gamblers from near Bhargava college along with playing cards and recovered stake money of Rs. 3260 from the spot.

The gamblers were identified as Ravinder Singh, son of Maggar Singh, Deepak Jasrotia, son of Suram Singh, Rahul Singh, son of Simar Singh and Ajay Singh, son of Joginder Singh. All are residents of Samba and were booked under 13 Gambling Act at P/S Samba.
