Give priority to cases of public importance, Dilbag tells cops

JAMMU: After the opening of Durbar offices here, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Tuesday visited headquarters of various wings of the police, including CID and Crime.

Chairing a meeting, the DGP directed the officers to give precedence to the cases of public importance. He urged the prosecution wing to follow up the cases with vigour in courts so that the conviction rate could be increased.

The DGP said the officers, particularly at the sub-inspector-level, should be put on the jobs according to their ability for optimising various services.

At CID Headquarters, the ADGP, CID, and other officers briefed the DGP about the functioning of the department and put forth some requirements. The DGP said their demands regarding the equipment, infrastructure and mobility would be looked into.

The DGP was received by ADGP, CID, B Srinivas; IGP, Jammu, SD Jamwal; IGP, Crime, S Ahfad-ul-Mujtaba and DIG, JSK Range, Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti at Zonal Police Headquarters. The DGP chaired meetings with the officers at their respective headquarters and also inspected different sections of the offices.

He directed the officers to enhance the capabilities of manpower management for mobilisation in shortest possible time.
