Director FCS&CA reviews preparedness for Winter Season

JAMMU: Amit Sharma, Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Jammu today held a comprehensive review meeting with all Assistant Directors of the department in the presence of Pawan Sharma, Joint Director (Adm), J.S Jasrotia, Deputy Director (Supplies), Kulraj Singh, Deputy Director (Food & Rationing), Deputy Director (Planning) Gurneet Kour, Rashim Deepika, Chief Accounts Officer and Balwinder Singh, Law Officer in which major focus remained on preparedness of department for ensuing winter season and dumping of Ration Supplies for snow-bound areas of Jammu Division.

All Assistant Directors especially Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Poonch and Rajouri aasured the Director FCS&CA Amit Sharma that all necessary measures have been taken regarding stocking of Ration Supplies such as Foodgrains, Sugar and SKO on upper reaches which teaming cut-off for sometime during peak winter season due to excessive snowfall in these areas. Director Amit Sharma was very particular about timely dumping of Ration Supplies in Dachhan, Warwan, Marwah and Padder areas of Kishtwar district as most of these areas face the wrath of nature and require 100% timely and advance stocking of essential supplies well on-time. AD Kishtwar alongwith other ADs assured that the dumping process shall be completed well before the onset of excessive cold conditions and all necessary steps in this behalf are being taken.

Apart from this, Director FCS&CA Amit Sharma also reviewed the pace of Aadhaar Seeding in the districts and directed them to ensure distribution of Ration through Aadhaar Authentication in POS Machines which is a major requirement under ePDS system. All Assistant Directors shares their issues regarding same for which proper directions were given to improve the processes and bringing systemic changes to improve the overall performance and image of the FCS&CA department.

Amit Sharma also directed all ADs that they should intensify market checking drives alongwith Legal Metrology and Food Safely teams in respective districts especially due to the ensuing festival season so that the public gets products/sweets/services at fair prices and best quality all through these festival days and there are least grievances in this behalf.

Apart from this, threadbare review was held regarding functioning of all wings of the department and the ADs assured that they shall submit reports and related data in a timely manner in future so that the Supply Chain Management happens in a systematic manner in the FCS&CA department. Before concluding, it was decided that Director FCS&CA Amit Sharma shall conduct surprise visits in all districts to check field functioning apart from taking first hand review from public about the improvement in the functioning of the department.
