DIS celebrates International Day of Girl Child

JAMMU: Doon International School celebrated the International community Day of Girl Child to mark the importance of girls in the society.

The programme commenced with an endearing skit performed by the kindergarten students depicting the orthodox mentality of the society which has been prevailing since ages. It was followed by a group song by the DABS depicting the significance of the girl child.

An emotional dance performance was presented by the junior students portraying the importance of the girl child's dreams, ambitions delivered by the students highlighting the need to save and educate the girl child.

The programme was graced by the presence of Chairman G. N. Tantray, Principal Dr Vikesh Kaur, Vice-Principal Gurdeep Kaur & Headmistress Sarita Moza Kaul.

In her address to the students, Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur asserted that it is a moral imperative and a matter of basic justice and equality to spread the idea of girl empowerment and also asked them to be the propagators of equality, equal opportunities and emancipation.
