Army conducts Awareness Lecture

POONCH: With an aim to increase awareness regarding various winter season related health problems, the Indian Army organised a Awareness Lecture on "Winter Diseases and their Preventive Measures" at Upper Higher Secondary School, Daraba in Poonch.

The lecture was delivered by the Medical Officer from Army. Large number of students, teachers, villagers, prominent personalities and especially youth and children of the village Daraba and adjoining villagers attended the lecture.

The audience was sensitized about health problems like respiratory diseases, skin problems, chilblains and other illnesses due to extreme cold weather conditions. The doctor also explained various preventive measures that can be taken to keep such diseases at bay and were informed about remedial measures that can help in boosting their health in winters.

A medical checkup was also carried out and basic medicines were distributed to the locals who were attending the lecture.

A special check up of old age persons was also carried out as a screening test for cataract patients.

The locals of village Daraba appreciated the event and thanked the Army for organising such events in these remote areas.
