Gho Brahmana boys, Raya girls win Samba Volleyball titles

JAMMU: Gho Brahmana Volleyball Club bagged the boys final while girls title trophy went to Raya Volleyball Club in the 30th District Samba Volleyball Championship held at Government Higher Secondary School Gho Brahmana in Samba.

In the boys' title clash, Gho Brahmana trounced Baba Sidh Goria Club Swankha 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 17-25, 26-24). Similarly, in girls section, Raya Volleyball Club defeated Government Degree College (GDC) Samba in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-11).

Former Minister, S S Slathia was chief guest in the finals and valedictory function, who presented the title trophies to the winners and runners-up teams.

Prominent among others present were Ram Paul Sharma, Vinod Sharma, Raman Singh Slathia, Isher Singh Slathia, Kamal Singh, Mohan Lal, Dr Yudvir Dubey and Dr Shiv Lal Sharma.

Earlier, president District Samba Volleyball Association, Ramesh Sharma welcomed the distinguished guests while vote of thanks presented by general secretary, Balbinder Singh Jamwal.

The competition officiated by the technical penal comprising Mulkh Raj Sharma, Naresh Kumar Sharma, Sat Paul, Deepak Abhineet under the supervision of Rakesh Verma, joint secretary of the district association.
